Guenevere Chalice

LOSHRS Guenever Chalice

Awarded to the mono-hull yacht with the Best Total Elapsed Time in the Single Handed Division in the Two Day Youngstown Race.

The Guenevere Chalice is a gold chalice mounted on a piece of ancient chalcedony scattered with poppy jasper, reminescent of the rock from which King Arthur withdrew the sword Excaliber.  The guenevere Chalice Trophy was donated by Mr. David Hunter, one of Port Credit's early single-handed sailing enthusiasts, who was instrumental in organizing this race in 1975.  Dave also served as the Club Archivist for many years.
