The new PCYC weather station is finally ready to provide you with live weather data from the roof of the Club House. This initiative was made possible through the sponsorship of PCYC member Ed Radonic.

The weather station is a Davis Instruments Vantage Pro2; it is the first weather station in its price range to use frequency hopping spread spectrum radio to transmit and receive data up to 1000' (300 m) line of sight.

The integrated sensor suite combines a rain collector, temperature and humidity sensors, and anemometer into one package. For improved accuracy, temperature and humidity sensors are housed inside a radiation shield. The shield protects against solar radiation and other sources of radiated and reflected heat. The sensor suite is fully solar powered and transmits data wirelessly to the console in the Chart Room.

The console is connected to a dedicated computer with appropriate software to display the weather information on the screen in the Chart Room and transmit to this website.

We are currently in the process of developping additional weather pages that will display rich content from various external sources.
