Ron Philp arrived on the doorsteps of Port Credit Yacht Club in the March of 2002, coming from the other “PCYC” in Montreal.

Ron began his Manager career at The Edge Water Hotel, one of the largest nightclubs in Montreal.

Ron went on to run several other large nightclubs on Montreal, until he became one of the Directors for Groupe AML, a tour boat company located in Montreal, Quebec City and Tadoussac.

During his tenure as Director of Services for Groupe AML, Ron earned his Transport Canada Masters ticket, and worked as an officer on board the cruise boats.

Ron moved out to the west island of Montreal, and took a position as manager of Pointe Claire Yacht Club until 2002, when he made the move to Port Credit.

Ron began his sailing career in 1984, when he built a Northstar 26 in the winter, in a warehouse in Montreal. He sailed the Northstar for a few years, then he moved up to a Douglas 32. Several years ago, Ron crossed over to the dark side, and purchased a Trawler, which he still owns.
