3. General Guidelines
For the guidance of the Committee and the Executive, but not so as to fetter their discretion, the following principles should assist in the administration of the Fund:
- Assistance may be given to any young member of P.C.Y.C. who, in the opinion of the Committee, shows promise of becoming a top-ranking competitor in yachting events and who has shown an interest in improving skills as a competitor in these events. If assistance has started before the age of 25 years, it may be continued afterwards if such assistance is leading towards a defined goal.
- Preference should be given to assisting young members who have progressed through the P.C.Y.C. Junior Sail Program and are continuing to compete, and show serious commitment to their yachting activities.
- Consideration may be given to the financial need of applicants and the extent to which they have been or may be assisted by other persons or organizations, either business or the Canadian Yachting Association.
4. Contribution to PCYC
Any member receiving Fund assistance may be required to list all the events in which they have participated, together with full results. Further the member will be expected to supply written reports of events attended and progress made, and be prepared to give lectures or otherwise contribute to Club activities, such as Credit Notes, when requested.
